I hope that Chrome becomes popular, especially among those who currently use Internet Explorer. IE has been holding back the progress of web applications for some time now. Nearly 1/4 of users still use IE 6.0, which is over 7 years old, which is ancient since the web is less than 20 years old and still evolving.

Chrome is already one of the most standards compliant browsers out there. Adhering to standards lets application designers build richer, better web apps.

It’s too bad Wes. I think those 1/4 users are uneducated and don’t know there are more powerful, more stable web browsers out there – for free. They use whatever web browser comes with their operating system, and Windows XPs IE6 is standard. Most people wont upgrade to Vista which carries IE7, not that it’s any better. You know what the sad thing is, Windows will never make Chrome or Firefox the operating systems default browser. We have to rely on people becoming more web savy and realize that IE is crap.

On the other hand, now that Google, which most people use to search, is promoting Chrome. It might really take flight since it will be right in front of their faces every time they go to search for something. Cross your fingers, haha.

I have IE7 and I’m perfectly happy with it. Yeah, I know, it’s got its disadvantages… but I’m just so used to the way they structure the favourites and history, other browsers don’t really have that done as well.

I don’t like Chrome at all actually. It’s too light and plain. I’ve used Firefox and it’s not bad, but I just like IE a bit better.

Don’t kill me, I’m not trying to be a traitor to the cause or anything… I’m just not the most computer savy guy and I like defaults.
